  Dude, you’re thinking “Melkor,” not “Melkior.”

  Melchior (or Melkior as an alternate spelling) is derived from Persian and Farsi elements “melk”, meaning “king”, and “quart”, meaning “city.” From Christian tradition, it is the name of one of the three wise men, along with Caspar and Balthasar, who brought gifts to the infant Jesus (from whom the three gurus in Chrono Trigger were named after).
